My passion for cosmetology started at a very young age tending to my sisters hair and teaching myself techniques in braiding, curling and overall finished styling. I then found a niche in cutting hair and utilized many of my friends for experiment.
After studying a different field in college and numerous years in corporate America, I found myself later in life exploring the opportunity to pursue the career I had always dreamed of.
In November of 2017 I graduated top of my class from the Aveda Institute in Charlotte. My love for Aveda products and their service model made it easy to choose Aveda for my education, and later on my employment.
At a chance meeting with one of the owners of Element 5 Salon, I came for a tour and knew it would be my home after graduation.
I jumped at the chance to start working the front desk while still in school at Aveda. After graduation I started the training program with the elite talents of the education team at the salon to further my own personal knowledge.
I have been given advanced training through Aveda in the fields of cutting, color, and balayage techniques. Once established in the salon I want to advance my skills in cutting through Aveda and one-day carry the title of Aveda Purefessional.
I was born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and moved to the Charlotte area as a young child. As a child, I wanted to do hair when I grew up. I went to college at East Carolina University for Public Relations. After spending many years in customer service positions, I returned to my childhood dream. I moved to Chicago, and attended the Douglas J. Aveda Institute. After cosmetology school, I continued my education with advanced classes through Aveda and a one year apprenticeship where I learned the Vidal Sassoon style of cutting. I worked for four years at Salon Soca, an Aveda concept salon in Lincoln Park, Chicago. I continued to hone my skills with advanced color classes at Aveda. After almost seven years in Chicago, I decided to return home to be closer to friends and family. Element 5 immediately felt like a great place to make my new salon home. The part I love about my job the most is the connections I make with people and making them feel great about themselves.
I knew when I was a tween that I wanted to do hair. I started putting fun colors in my own hair, which is something I still do. When I was a teenager I started doing my friend’s hair. At the age of 17, I graduated early from high school and went to cosmetology school at the Aveda Institute of Charlotte. I’ve been doing hair since I graduated Cosmetology school in 2013, I’ve taken several advanced education classes from Aveda Purefessionals. I have experience with Pravana fashion colors; I plan to expand my education in that area by taking more creative coloring classes. I love meeting new people and enhancing their beauty to make them feel great!
My love for the beauty industry was always sparked by stealing my moms makeup and playing as a kid. Over the years of growing up, I developed a passion for the power of enhancing someone’s beauty with the art of makeup. Born and raised in Charlotte, I graduated from South Mecklenburg high school. Being a self taught makeup artist I had the desire to attend beauty school at the age of 18 and expand my knowledge further along in the industry. Graduating from the Aveda Institute of Charlotte with best in color in my class, I developed an infatuation with creating beautiful hair whether it’s a textured bob, a champagne balayage or dark mysterious waves; I love it all. I immediately fell in love with my home at Element 5 Salon and felt like I found my happy place. Eager to begin my career behind the chair, i started assisting and observing all the talented artists at my salon and went into my apprenticeship and soaked up all the education my creative mind could retain. Alongside my training, Ive attended advanced color and cut classes from balayage with Aveda Purefessionals, becoming certified in Keratin application, to new cutting techniques with Dusty Rhode. But it doesn’t stop there! Being in love with the idea of adding length and volume to my hair with extensions, I’ve attended a hands on class for Dream Catchers hair, becoming certified in I-tip and Tape in Hair Extensions. I adore anything from cut to color, curls, blowouts and makeup. I specialize in anything color, with a special love for blondes, balayage and highlights. Come in and let me paint your hair!
I was born and raised in Los Angeles , California. My curiosity for hair started at a young age when I picked up the scissors and snipped off my own hair. I later decided to follow my passion in the industry and attended cosmetology school shortly after graduating high school in 2014. Throughout the years I have expanded my education and even experimented with fashion colors in my own hair. Being from LA opened up many doors for me to train with amazing stylists and incorporate their techniques on all of my guests. I worked in Beverly Hills, CA for 4 years before relocating to Charlotte.I have been very fortunate to call Element 5, my new salon home. I love what I do and will continue to expand my education to ensure the most up to date looks and techniques for my clients. When you look good , you feel good & I love being able to help with that.
